Welcome! Get your FREE card sizes PDF guide here. Today I want to take the mystery out of card sizes, A4 vs A5 vs A6. C6? So many people struggle with this.
So, here’s my video and guide to UK card sizes and the mats or layers to use. I’ve created a video that shows you each step to making the perfect layers for an A6 card base. Plus you can get your free card sizes guide by completing the form below. In fact, this guide will work for any cardstock generally used outside of North America. I don’t know why they are different, but they are. Consequently, lots of videos you see are not easy to replicate here in the UK. Until now! Now you can cut, mat & layer with ease!
What are the typical card sizes?
The most often used card size is probably an A6 size card, which fits a C6 sized envelope. This is the normal greeting card / thank you note sizes. You will also see A5 cards that fit a C5 envelope and are your larger, special occasion cards. Both of these card sizes can be made with card stock you can purchase from me.
What is matting and layering?
It’s simply the idea of placing a smaller piece of card stock on top of another piece of slightly larger card stock. This gives you a border to your stamping layer or Designer Series Paper. This makes your layer really pop on the card, and gives a little added interest. It helps to bring colours together and make the card more cohesive in its design.
