Today I’m reviewing the new Cable Knit Embossing Folder from Stampin’ Up! Or to give it it’s full name the Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder! Phew! The first thing you notice is that it’s heavy, thick and so much bigger than a normal Embossing Folder. It really is chunky and solid.  Next you notice how deep the imprint is to the touch. It feels amazing!

How Do I Use the Cable Knit Embossing Folder?

Firstly, before you buy it you should note the sizing, it’s a square folder that’s  6″ x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm) in size, so you need to check your embossing machines to ensure it will fit through! If your machine will cope, then you’re good to give it a go!

Before you run it through your machine though, remember you only need one plate in your machine sandwich. That sounds funny, but you need a sandwich in the Big Shot of a base platform (embossing tab or without the cutting shim) then your Cable Knit embossing folder with card stock inside, and finally just one cutting plate on top. It’s so deep it takes the place of another cutting plate. This will ensure a good deep impression, and won’t damage your machine.

What else do you need to know?

Why is it called Dynamic? To be honest, I’m not entirely sure – deep would have been my name for it, because it truly gives a deeper impression. I guess that’s what is so dynamic about it, you really can see the depth and it gives your cards & projects a whole new, dynamic, feel! Here’s a tag with just a small piece on it.
