Where do you find your card ideas? What inspires my card designs? How do you come up with so many ideas all the time? Do you think that when you see all the designs of cards I make or friends make? When you watch my videos or other videos, do you think – how do they come up with all those ideas? Well, today I’m sharing some top tips on what inspires my card designs.

First up is the Stampin’ Up! catalogue. Without a doubt the ideas, layouts of colours and the designs of the papers inspire lots of my cards. Use the inside pages to spark things that you might change up, or play with to come up with your own slant on things. For example, here’s the Picture Perfect Party Suite catalogue spread.

What Inspires My Card Designs?

Secondly, the things around me. More and more as you grow as a designer, you see colours and patterns everywhere. Did you count the number of Stampin’ Up! colours at the recent Royal Wedding? I think the entire new colour range was on show! So fashion and home decor spark my thoughts too. This plate from my local supermarket is a flash back to the Botanical Gardens suite, but I can tell you it’s also showing up in the new catalogue too!

Finally, nature plays a huge part. The colours and shapes, the flowers and designs are there to see. Here is an alpine plant I’ve had in my garden for years, it’s just going over now, but it reminded me of Awesomely Artistic.

So, here is a card designed to match!!
