Organising your card making stuff can be hard! I did a week long set of time saving tips a few months ago and they were very popular, so I thought I’d give you 5 tips for organising your card making stuff this week. Why are they linked? Because the more organised you are, the more time you save, ensuring more crafty time!
Over on my Facebook page I’m sharing daily ideas & tips. Here I am sharing 5 things you can do, even when you don’t have a posh craft studio! Do you get studio envy, I know I do! I don’t have a huge room, I share my 12′ x 12′ craft room with our sideboard, Shaun’s stuff and 3 door ways! It’s amazing how much you can fit in if you’re organised though!
5 Tips For Organising Your Card Making Stuff
When you don’t have a lot of room, being organised ensures you can craft when you want without having to find everything first!
- Have a place for everything. Even if that’s a box where everything lives. Know what you have in that box!
- Use Vinyl LP covers for your 12 x 12 papers and card (today’s top tip)
- Keep your card stock scraps in A4 pockets (today’s top tip)
- Use your card stock to make storage (come back tomorrow for more on this)
- Ribbons can be messy! So use a compartment tray to stop them rolling around! (I’ll show you more on Thursday!)
You’ll see them all in detail this week either here or on my Facebook Page! Here are two current favourite though.
Tip 2 Storing Designer Series Papers
For your Designer Series Papers, use Vinyl LP Covers! These are now readily available because of the come back of LPs!! Reuse them to store your fabulous papers in. Keeps the edges neat & no bent corners!
Tip 3 Storing Card Stock Off Cuts
Next, put all your card off cuts into A4 Pocket Pages. I keep mine with my full A4 sheets of card in my card drawers, but if you don’t have drawers why not use an A4 carry case? Things we use in the office are always great to re-purpose at home for your craft stash!
The elements on this card were made purely from off cuts in my pocket pages! Never cut into a full piece of card stock again! This helps you a) save card stock & money and b) save time when you just need a small piece of card to die cut etc. They make my life so much easier!
