Whoo hoo, today is my first ever Pretty Cards and Paper blog hop! I’m very excited to have been invited to join this amazing group of international demonstrators for this monthly hop. This month’s theme features Bird Ballad paper. Therefore I wanted to do something that showed the versatility of this paper pack. It is not only beautiful to look at, it’s been designed specifically to allow you to use elements in your cards.
Pretty Cards and Paper – Bird Ballad
So, for this card I pulled out my Paper Snips and fussy cut out the 2 birds from the sheet outlined in bright red below. There are so many birds in different colours and shapes you can always use them on another project.
The background also features the Bird Ballad papers. I used the cages in the background to give the feeling that these birds have flown the coup and are having a good time outside on a branch gossiping. The branch was stamped from Free As A Bird stamp set, you just mask off the birds, so you’re left with just the branch image! You can see I’ve also used the bundle’s new Nested Label dies, which are easy to use and come with the great stitched detailing. In addition to giving a stitched edge to the piece that is cut out, they also leave a stitched edging on the card you cut from. This gives me some great ideas for future cards with stitched frames! Can you see how you could also use these? I have also fallen in love with the Bird Ballad Trinkets, these keys are so cute!
Please hop around and see the other wonderful designers from all around the world. The one thing we have in common? We all love pretty cards and paper! So, these monthly blog hops will specialise in featuring these products for you.
