Pretty Cards and Paper Blog Hop

Whoo-hoo, time to join this amazing group of international demonstrators for our final hop of 2020! Today I’m sharing 3 Simple Cards With Peony Garden Paper as that is our paper of choice this month!

It’s a beautiful soft paper in pinks and greys that’s easy to match with any stamp set. You can see I have used just simple sentiments for 2 of the cards, allowing the paper to do the talking. The third card uses Basket of Blooms which sets off the grey perfectly.

So, for this card, I used one of my favourite layouts; a simple strip of paper to highlight the image to the right. The flowers are from Basket of Blooms and the matching Small Bloom punch makes adding those flowers a breeze. Don’t the flowers add a pop, while still somehow coordinating with the floral paper!

Keeping it Simple!

The next card is the easiest of the lot. Paper and a sentiment – done! In this case, I used a pop of Petal Pink ribbon to highlight the sentiment and left the stamping to the inside. Don’t you just love being able to switch things up and give people a surprise inside their card?

A few added Rhinestones for a little bit of bling lifts the card just enough! Honestly, the papers are beautiful, so why hide them?

Finally, I added some Nested Layer dies to create a layered effect. I love chopping off the ends of the dies (as I did in this card). It almost makes it shine more because there is less of it! Weird but true. Why not try it and see what I mean.

It just goes to show Pip that ‘quick and easy’ does not mean bland and boring. These cards are beautiful!
