I love seeing what they create and I want to share it with you all too, so, each week I will welcome a different designer from our amazing team. Sometimes it will be me too!

This week our guest designer is Deb from PDQ cards. All the details for this post can be found below.

What The Gecko?

Sometimes you are asked to make a cards for which a stamp set just doesn’t exist or fit in exactly with what you need for the occasion. It’s my eldest’s birthday and unsurprisingly she knew exactly what she wanted – a gecko card.
After searching through the various Stampin’ Up! sets I have available I decided nothing fit the bill. Back to the drawing (or in my case ‘stamping’) board.

The latest edition to our busy household is a Lavender Morph leopard gecko called Sklya. I’ve learnt a lot about leopard geckos in the last 4 weeks – mostly that they aren’t as scary as I first thought!

Her beautiful colouring inspired me to try recreating it as a background using the sponge daubers and several ink pads. What do you think? A simple ribbon and birthday message embossed in silver to match the silver layer finish this card off neatly.
I really enjoyed creating this bespoke background – it was so simple to do and really is a unique card for my unique daughter!
