Jazz Up Your Handmade Card Ideas with Paper Piecing

Like what you see?

It’s time to jazz up your handmade card ideas with Paper Piecing. Not sure what Paper Piecing is? It’s an extremely simple technique. You apply pieces of paper to your stamped images to give them colour and texture.

First you stamp the image onto your normal card (in this case a piece of Very Vanilla card stock). Next step is to stamp the same image onto your chosen piece of designer series or patterned paper. You then cut out the elements you want from the paper, in this case I wanted her dress and hat. I cut off the hands and face / neck areas so when I glue the dress and hat to the original stamped image they show through.

Here is a list of the products I used on this card. Feel free to shop by clicking the image you’re after. I’d love to see and hear about how you too have jazzed up your handmade card ideas with Paper Piecing.
