Today I’m sharing a card that holds memories of growing up. My dad used to pick me up and carry me around, just like the image in A Good Man stamp set. My hair would be in a pony tail and I would be in jeans or trousers! During my childhood we used to do a lot of walking and climbing around castles and old ruins. I remember even very young scrambling over rocks. But I’d get tired, so dad used to pick me up and carry me. Just like this!

Memories Of Growing Up

I love that this set also has an image for both girls and boys being with their father. This means you can recreate your own memories of growing up! For this card I used the fabulous blue & white striped background papers from Sail Away. The striking background allows you to colour the people’s clothing deep and vibrant colours. As a result, you get a really striking card that stands out on the shelf! You could also make this more subtle and use softer tones if you preferred.

I am sending this card to my dad, because I know I grew up loved. As he gets older, I think it’s important to keep telling him that I know that and that I wouldn’t be the person I am to day without that. Consequently, this card is now in the post on it’s way to my dad to give him a hug in an envelope because I can’t be with him for Father’s Day this year.
